 At approximately 65 acres, Mirror Lake is an outdoor recreation paradise for residents and visitors alike.

Fishing

Fishing remains one of the most popular activities on the lake, given the ample and diverse freshwater fish that make the waters their home. 


Common species include: largemouth and spotted bass, crappie, chain pickerel, yellow perch, pumpkinseed, blue gill, and brown catfish. Also prowling the waters are the large bottom-feeding wild king carp and occasional eel.

Canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and motorized boats are all permitted on the lake, however, jet skiing is not. 


A small boat ramp exists next to the beach on the Norfolk-side of the lake.

 During the dog days of summer, kids and adults can be found wading and swimming in Mirror Lake’s calm waters. 


Non-residents can access the lake at the beach. However, swimmers must swim at their own risk, as there is no lifeguard

Many aquatic, land-based and avian animals call Mirror Lake their home, making this a fantastic destination for bird watching and observing nature. Seasonal changes to the lake also usher in annual migrations of birds from far-away destinations.
